University town, modern city and its history goes back 2000 years:
That is Augsburg!

Many famous personalities as Leopold Mozart – the father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – or Bertolt Brecht – a famous German author – were born in Augsburg. As a result, a lot of music or theatre events take place in the city each year.

Optimum conditions regarding infrastructure make Augsburg an ideal place for the economy in southern Germany. A lot of companies like Siemens or KUKA set up their business in the ‘Fuggerstadt’ –this is how Augsburg is called in Germany. Moreover, several middle-class companies contribute to the constantly growing economy that offers many job opportunities in different sectors.

Augsburg is also a place of entertainment. The football club FC Augsburg plays in the highest German Football League. For more professional sport you can also visit games of the hockey Club Augsburger Panther.

Twice a year there is the third largest Bavarian public festival called Augsburger Plärrer. It’s like the Oktoberfest of Augsburg. The exuberant nightlife can be best experienced in Maximilian Street or the city centre with its many bars and clubs.
